Christina Aguilera, the American singer-songwriter, recently filed for various NFT and metaverse trademarks. Put simply, this shows the star’s interest in stepping into the space in some way. The trademarks include NFTs, virtual concerts, and metaverse games. Currently, she hasn’t yet received the trademarks but is in the process of filing for them.
The NFT and Metaverse Trademark Files
When somebody files for a trademark, it means that they wish to sell or provide certain goods or services. In Christina Aguilera‘s case, doing this means that she will be able to sell, market, and license her trademark.
On September 16th, Three Wishes IP LLC (whom she has worked with previously on her ‘in real life’ recording and performing trademarks) filed the trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
A list of the goods and services for which Christina Aguilera and Three Wishes have filed are as follows:
- NFTs
- Crypto collectibles
- Downloadable virtual goods – namely art, avatars, clothing, jewellery, and other merchandise
- Entertainment services, such as musical performances, music concerts, and virtual appearances in the metaverse
- Online, non-downloadable games in the metaverse and other virtual environments.
This is the singer’s first move into Web3, and shows a clear intention to move into the space.
