What is Palm Foundation?

Palm Foundation is a new Web3 platform aiming to empower historically marginalised artists and creators. With an aim to onboard the next billion people to Web3, it will educate and support creators on the Palm network, an Ethereum-compatible sidechain. Furthermore, Palm NFT Studio, HENI, ConsenSys, Heyday Films, Nifty’s, Candy Digital, and Portion support the platform. What’s more, Andrea Lerdo, former Head of Business Architecture at Onyx, will head the platform.

“I am honoured to lead and inspire others to collaborate with us as we onboard traditionally underrepresented builders, creators and artists,” said Lerdo. “Our early contributors are what sets us apart from other projects and foundations. Their sustained mission to support diverse creators in web3 is corroborated by the selection of a Latin non-binary person as the Head of the Palm Foundation.”

What will the platform focus on?

Already, the platform has established a host of priorities to focus on in the near future. This includes non-English translations of Web3 content, offering training in code-free digital tools, and startup mentorship. In addition, grant and scholarship programs, fiat payment processing for buying digital collectibles, and curatorial mentorship for creators are also on the list.

For its first partnership, Palm Foundation has teamed up with ZsONAMACO, the largest art fair in Latin America. During the fest, the platform will showcase the work of its selected artist. However, it is yet to name the artist. The event will take place from February 8 to 12, 2023 in Mexico City. You can find out more about the platform on the Palm Foundation website.
