From ESPN to Starbucks, some of the world’s most notable and beloved brands are making the leap into NFTs. A few years, the question was whether or not mainstream brands would ever embrace blockchain assets. Now, the question is simply which brand will be next and which will reign supreme.
Now, corporate brands in the NFT space might have some big competition on their hands as the Disney Corporation has published a job listing for a lawyer relating to NFTs.
The official listing on the Disney Careers page states that the role is for Principal Counsel – Corporate Transactions, Emerging Technologies & NFTs to be located in Burbank, California. From all indications, this role will require someone with experience in the emerging tech sector and this includes NFTs and blockchain.
The role is “seeking an experienced corporate attorney to work on transactions involving emerging technologies, including NFTs, blockchain, metaverse and decentralized finance,” and also comes with a 5-8 year experience requirement in corporate transactions.
As part of the duties outlined, the candidate will be providing advice to the Disney legal and business teams on NFT and cryptocurrency-related matters. For months, there has been speculation about whether or not Disney will be getting into the NFT space. This job posting seems to confirm that at least some NFT-related activities will be in the cards for the future.
