BAYC co-founder Gordon Goner suggests that Ape Fest 2023 should be both digital and physical. This proposition happened after an exchange on Twitter between ImprobableIo co-founder and CEO Herman Narula, BAYC member GratefulApe.Eth and the BAYC co-founder.
BAYC Gordon Goner Tweets About Physical & Digital ApeFest
Over the weekend, ImprobableIo Co-Founder and CEO Herman Narula quote-tweeted GratefulApe.Eth, who had tweeted:
“Imagine the next ape fest, for the people that can’t get into the IRL venue, will be held in @OthersideMeta. That would be so sick.”
Narula agreed with the BAYC member, which in turn caught the attention of Gordon Goner.
Hours later, Gordon Goner replied:
“For sure. There’s bound to be some hiccups with musician’s contracts and what we’ll be allowed to stream. But we’ll make it work. Ape Fest should be a digital + physical experience.”
Gordon Goner’s answer sparked a lot of excitement in the Bored Ape community.
“I’ve seen popular festivals with top artists live streamed on Twitch and Youtube. Money may be the answer, but definitely possible to make work. I’ll be there in person either way,” tweeted @whosprof.
“Honestly, this is the future of the metaverse in my opinion. (Other than gaming). Bringing the collective event experience to people at home will be huge,” added @jschmidtdmd.
What is ApeFest?
ApeFest is an annual event that celebrates the Bored Ape Yacht Club. The first ApeFest took place in October 2021 and included a costume contest, a yacht party and an immersive gallery experience.
This year’s event took place in New York during NFT.NYC. It featured an exciting lineup including LCD Soundsystem, Questlove, Haim, Lil Baby, Snoop Dogg and Eminem. Undoubtedly, next year’s event will be bigger and better than ever – especially if Gordon Goner’s promise of having a digital counterpart takes place.
